Tivoli Storage Manager, the base product of the Tivoli Storage Management product set, is an enterprise-wide network storage management solution. Tivoli Storage Manager Version 3.7 is the successor of Tivoli ADSTAR Distributed Storage Manager (ADSM) Version 3. It has been renamed and repackaged, and introduces many new functions such as LAN-free archive and restore, enhanced usability, improved performance, and Storage Area Network (SAN) tape library sharing.

This book presents an overview of the new Tivoli Storage Manager Version 3.7, introduces the Tivoli Storage Management product set, and gives a detailed description of each of the new functions of Tivoli Storage Manager. The book also discusses in detail the new Tivoli Storage Manager Windows 2000 support, and introduces Tivoli Data Protection for Lotus Domino and Tivoli Data Protection for Workgroups, two other members of the Tivoli Storage Management product set.
