This document is the result of a residency project that was conducted at
the IBM ITSO Center in Boeblingen. The objectives were to implement the
tools and set up the host and workstations for system and performance
management in a VM and VSE client/server environment.

We focused on the areas of SQL object and copy management, userid and
password management, network and performance monitoring, and focal point
operations.

The material is based on the actual installation and experiences performed
during the project and is intended to assist customer technical personnel
as well as IBM Systems Engineers and Technical Professionals in
implementing system, database and performance management tools.

A knowledge of the following products is assumed:
* SNA communications
* VM and/or VSE networking
* OS/2 connectivities
* Distributed relational database systems and Distributed Relational
Database Architecture (DRDA) connectivity.
