This document describes the CID installation utility Software
Installer which is available on two platforms: OS/2 and Microsoft Windows.
We introduce the product by showing typical scenarios for both operating
systems and explain specific features in detail. The book provides
explanations, guidelines and practical hints on how to use these
products to make installation programs CID-enabled. The scenarios are
presented in a cookbook fashion to guide the reader through the various
steps that are necessary to define software packages and prepare them
for distribution and installation. The book also covers the unattended
installation using NetView DM/6000 and NetView DM/2 products.
This document was written for technical personnel and workstation
specialists and administrators of LAN-based software distribution
environments.
Some knowledge of OS/2, Microsoft Windows and the CID architecture and a basic
understanding of REXX and LAN Server is expected from the reader.
