It gives a broad understanding of the implementation options for a business intelligence application, and of the possible roles of IBM's S/390 in these options.

In this book we discuss the IT requirements that flow from the business needs of the enterprise and describe some possible architectures for business applications. We then look in detail at how S/390 with OS/390 and DB2 for OS/390 provide solutions to several of these IT and business needs.

The remainder of the book looks at the business value of various server attributes and shows the value of S/390 in support of these attributes.
