IBM Redbooks
ADD TO CART
This IBM Redbook is one in a series of IBM publications written specifically for the IBM System Blue Gene supercomputer, Blue Gene/L, which was developed by IBM in collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). In this redbook, we provide an overview of the hardware that constitutes a Blue Gene/L system. We discuss the actual chips, cards, and so on that comprise a Blue Gene/L rack, as well as the peripheral systems required to run applications.
In this redbook, we also provide planning information to help you understand the physical requirements that must be present in the machine room where the Blue Gene/L system is to reside. Such examples of these requirements apply to the floor (weight and cutouts), cooling, and electrical.
