DFSMStvs is an optional feature of the DFSMS component of z/OS 1.4, and it offers the ability for VSAM data to be shared for both read and write operations while maintaining integrity and recoverability. DFSMStvs adds the ability to log changes to recoverable VSAM data sets and for batch programs to use commit and backout functions.
