Parents send their children to school with the expectation that they will become knowledgeable. But knowledge starts with God. In fact, all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ (Col. 2:3) and the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Prov. 1:7). Leaving the Creator, Sustainer, and Finisher out of the educational process amounts to an educational nonsequitur. If real, or true knowledge is to be obtained, it must include God. For the Christian educator, this is THE foundational pedagogical principle. Christian teachers in public schools are challenged to examine this and in to incorporate God in all of their academic disciplines.
