This document describes the IBM LAN Distance 1.1 product. It provides
information on how to set up and customize LAN Distance in a simple
stand-alone workgroup LAN environment. This is expanded to include
customization tips for more complex configurations, multiprotocol
application requirements for remote workstations, filtering techniques,
and security.

This document was written for IBM systems engineers, LAN systems
operators and adminstrators, and other LAN support staff who are
responsible for the installation, setup, and customization of LAN
Distance. Knowledge of IBM OS/2 2.1, DOS, Microsoft Windows 3.1,
and IBM LAN Server 3.0 is assumed.

Using TCP/IP, CM/2, Personal Communications/3270, NetWare (IPX), and
Networking Services/DOS with LAN Distance is also included in this
document. Knowledge of these products is assumed.
