About The Photographer

Wang Wei has been fascinated by trains since the age of 11. Over the past fifteen years, his mission to capture the world's greatest railways has led him on a journey of more than 185,000 miles, from tropical islands to the frosty Tibetan plateau. He spends nearly five months on the rails every year, and his stunning images have appeared in global media such as BBC, Daily Mail, The Guardian, CNN, and National Geographic. He has managed to photograph every model of train produced in China since 1949, as well as photographing trains across Asia and beyond. He hopes that through his acclaimed images people will learn more about the beauty of railways.
