Personalized Products
Personalization turns a generic product into one that feels made for a single person. Used well, it lifts response rates on marketing pieces, and it can become the product itself, when every customer receives something built just for them. Because we print on demand, there is no massive print run to justify, which makes truly individual pieces economical.
Vervante prints personalized products two ways. The right one depends on where the personalization comes from: your data, or a finished file your customer creates. Here is how to tell them apart and where to start with each.
Variable data printing
You provide one design and a data source, such as a list of names, addresses, or images. We merge your data into the design at print time, so every printed piece is different while the layout stays the same. Think of it as mail merge for print. Each product looks as though it was designed and printed for a single person.
Best for:
How to start: Variable data work is quoted per project, because it depends on your design and the structure of your data. Request a quote, or email [email protected] and we will map it out with you.
Build your own products
Some products change completely with every order. A custom card deck, a configured planner, a made to order workbook. Here your own system creates a finished, print-ready PDF for each order, and you send us that file. We print it exactly as we receive it. The entire interior can change from one order to the next, not just a name.
Best for:
The setup is simple and does not require a developer. Your product uses one part number, each order carries an order ID, and you upload a print file named with that same order ID to a shared drive. It works with any platform: Shopify, WooCommerce, a plain email order, or our API.
How to start: See Sending a Unique Print File With Every Order for the full setup, then contact your Vervante representative to set up your shared drive and receive your part number.
If your personalization comes from a list of data that we merge into a set design, it is variable data printing. If your customer produces a complete, finished file for each order, it is the build your own workflow. Still not sure? Request a quote or schedule a call and we will help you choose the right path.
Whatever stage you are at, here is where to start.
