45 coil colors to match or accent your cover design.
The coil is one of the first things a reader notices about a spiral bound book, and it is one of the least expensive ways to make a book look intentional. Plastic spiral coil is available in 45 colors, from standard black and white to neons, metallics, and a glow in the dark option.
Plastic coil is our most color-flexible binding. If you are still deciding between binding styles, see our spiral and wire-o binding options.
Colors on screen are approximate. Monitors, phones, and browsers all render color differently, and plastic coil has a gloss that a flat circle cannot show.
If coil color matters to your design, order a printed sample or ask for a physical coil sample before you finalize your order.
Glow in the Dark is a pale mint in daylight and glows after exposure to light. Gold, Silver, Pearl, and Metallic Forest have a metallic finish that a flat swatch cannot show.
Match or contrast, but choose on purpose. A coil that picks up an accent color from your cover art looks designed. A default black coil on a colorful cover looks like nobody made a decision.
Consider the whole product line. If you are publishing a series, a consistent coil color across every title makes the set read as a collection on a shelf or in a product photo.
Think about wear. Coil color does not affect durability, but lighter colors on a book that lives in a bag will show scuffs and marks sooner than darker colors.
Coil size is separate from color. Coil diameter is determined by your page count and ranges from 1/4 inch to 2 inches. Every color is available across the size range.
Tell us the color you want and we will quote your book with it.
